A GREAT Yarmouth radio presenter is off Down Under to start a broadcasting career.

Stephanie Sleap has landed a job with one of Australia's top commercial radio stations, 3AW Melbourne and her programme will be called Night Sleap.

Stephanie, 21, from Neatishead was trained on Hospital Radio Yare by Shawn Lovett and she paid tribute to the encouragement she had received from the charity.

She said: “It is exactly the type of station I have been training to use my journalistic skills with, and opportunities like this do not come along every day. I will be back to the UK next year and hope I will be welcome to visit the HRY studio.”

Hospital Radio Yare broadcasts on 1350MW, 24 hours a days seven days a week and is looking for request collectors and presenters. Anyone interested can contact the membership secretary, Hospital Radio Yare, Northgate Hospital, Great Yarmouth or call 01493 842613
