A cargo ship being detained off the coast at Great Yarmouth after stowaways were found on board has entered the outer harbour.
The Rotra Mare, which was carrying wind turbines from Spain, was stopped from docking after suspected illegal immigrants were discovered by the crew.
A spokesman from Peel Ports said: "We can confirm that stowaways have been identified on board the Rotra Mare.
"We continue to work closely with the relevant authorities dealing with the matter."
The Netherlands-registered container/cargo ship was built in 2008.
It was due to arrive in Great Yarmouth from Bilbao at midday on Monday (September 23) but finally entered the port on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesman for industrial manufacturer Siemens Gamesa said the vessel was carrying windfarm towers which were due to be unloaded in Yarmouth for the East Anglia One development.The spokesman added: "Siemens Gamesa was notified by its subcontractor that, in the early hours of September 24 while offshore, the crew of the Rotra Mare discovered a number of stowaways.
"The vessel owners have alerted the appropriate authorities."
A spokesman for the Border Agency confirmed it was dealing with an incident off the Norfolk coast.
The spokesman said more details would be provided once the situation has been resolved.
Meanwhile Border Force and police vehicles were seen at the port on standby as the ship was coming in.
