Raising charity cash is becoming a matter of routine for a local dance group.
Mackenzie Movers meet regularly at Cliff Park Academy to enjoy ballroom and Latin dancing in a social setting for two hours.
Over the years members’ weekly payments have added up and their latest contribution of £500 brings the total raised to £2,500.
Maxine Taylor fundraising co-ordinator for Palliative Care East, the charity behind the Louise Hamilton Centre, was presented with a cheque from the group. She said: “We are so grateful to all of the dancers for continuing to support this local charity and helping us towards raising the £200,000 a year required to maintain the centre.”
Jackie and Barry Hook from Lowestoft are responsible for forming the closed social group, an offshoot of the Diana Mackenzie school.
