Paralympic swimming star Jessica-Jane Applegate has been given a £300 funding boost from a Great Yarmouth lodge.
She was handed the cheque by the Pride of Great Yarmouth Lodge, 10666 of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, which has pledged to support the swimmer in her quest to win more medals at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics due to her strong links to the town.
The presentation was made at the Mariners Tavern pub, where the lodge meets. The 2012 Paralympic gold medallist thanked the lodge members for their support.
Her mother, Dawn Applegate, said the donation would help purchase a new swimsuit for the next world championships, which was a requirement for the tournament.
The lodge wished Miss Applegate all the best and then enjoyed a buffer prepared by members.
The Pride of Great Yarmouth Lodge meets at 8pm every Wednesday at the Mariners Tavern in Howard Street South.
Miss Applegate was handed an MBE in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to swimming.
