Great Yarmouth has shown it has got talent galore.

Talent Spot 2018 has taken place at St George’s Theatre in an event organised by Harbour Radio to involve the local community and uncover talent from the Great Yarmouth area.

The show was described as a tough competition for the ten finalists, with an overall winner chosen from the three categories who will on to record their own music in a studio.

The winner for the 12-17 category was the dynamic duo known as Going Dutch with their mix-up of Scouting for Girls’ She’s so lovely and Aretha Franklin’s Piece of my heart.

The winner for the 18-24 category was Emma Seamarks with her performance of Les Miserables’ Bring me home.

And last but not least, the winner of the 25+ category went to Soulla for her rendition of ‘Show me love’ by Robin S.

The overall winner was Emma Seamarks.

The panel of judges chose her as the winner of the 18-24 category because of her powerful voice.

She will be given the opportunity to record her own track in the studio at Harbour Radio and network with other industry members.

Emma said to the audience on the night after being announced as overall winner: “Thank you, I sing to entertain and if you were entertained I’m glad.”

A representative from St George’s Theatre said: “Thank you to every one involved, not being from this area it is lovely to see how much talent there is in Great Yarmouth.“

A spokesman for Harbour Radio said: “It was fantastic to see the talent from this part of the country and Harbour Radio will work to put more Talent Spots together in the future with the intention of uncovering even more hidden talent from the town.”
