At Rollesby Primary School and Nursery we are celebrating recent sporting successes.
Prior to the summer holidays we submitted our application for the school games award.
In October we found out that we had achieved the gold. We are the first primary school in East Norfolk to gain this amazing accolade.
The same week we attended the Great Yarmouth Borough Council Sports Awards evening held at the town hall after being shortlisted for the Sporting Primary School of the year category.
We were absolutely thrilled to win this award, especially against such tough opposition. Martham Primary, St Nicholas Priory and Woodlands Primary were also shortlisted.
Following our win, we were entered into the Active Norfolk sports awards.
This time for Active school of the year. To our disbelief we were again shortlisted along with Avenue Junior and Aylsham High School. The awards night was held in November at The Open in Norwich.
We were so delighted to be announced as the winners.
We are so proud of these achievements and this demonstrates the school’s commitment to allowing all pupils access to a range of sports and competitions. Our pupils are chosen not by their ability but because of their enthusiasm to try new sports and activities.
