Success for Retroskate at the British Roller Skating Championships


Nineteen Team Retro skaters competed in the FARS British Figure and Free Championships recently, against competitors from all over the UK.

RetroSkate Artistic Roller Skating Club brought home 33 podium places - 13 golds including 10 British championship titles, 10 silver and 10 bronze, their best championship performance.

British Champion title roll of honour: Daisy Self - Tots Figure Champion, Molly Self - Mini Free and combined Champion, Fraia Wicks - Mini Figure Champion, Harlee Wicks - Mini Figure, Free and combined Men’s Champion, Ellen Siegert – Espoir Figure and combined Champion, Dulcie Read - Youth Free Champion.

The skaters range in age from 7-20 and were supported by a team of coaches, choreographers George Clark and Gemma Daniels, Sentinel Leisure Trust Ssports hall floor time, and Norton and Peskett for team sponsorship.

Anyone wanting to learn can go along to RetroSkate at the Marina Centre, on Tuesdays during the summer holidays, 5-6pm.
