A 39-year-old woman appeared before Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court this morning accused of murdering student Simon Everitt.
Wearing a grey and black Micky Mouse jumper Maria Chandler, of Lancaster Road, Yarmouth, spoke only to confirm her name, address and date of birth and was remanded in custody until July 14 when she will appear at Norwich Crown Court. Her solicitor Rob New made no application for bail.
A body believed to be that of Mr Everitt, 17, was discovered on farmland at Mautby, near Yarmouth, on Saturday morning. Formal identification will take place after a post mortem examination is carried out later today.
A full-scale murder inquiry was launched by police about a week after the Yarmouth College student disappeared on June 7.
Two men aged 19 and 24 were also arrested on suspicion of murder and remain on police bail.
