A campaign aiming to sink the activity of terrorist groups from operating on the region's waters, as well as deter maritime criminals, is being launched tomorrow.
Project Kraken encourages people who work on or enjoy Norfolk and Suffolk's maritime environment to stay vigilant to the threat of criminal activity and terrorism.
It is aimed at businesses, yacht clubs, marinas, voluntary groups and clubs who use the water for work or leisure purposes.
The objective is to prevent and deter criminals and terrorist groups from operating on the region's waters, while making harbours, ports and coastlines safer for those who use the sea, rivers and lakes legitimately.
It encourages people to report suspicious activity by contacting Norfolk Constabulary on 0845 456 4567 quoting 'Project Kraken'.
Information received will help in building up a clearer picture of criminal activity and increasing the likelihood of suspects being identified, disrupted and intercepted.
