There were celebrations at the James Paget Hospital this week as the League of Friends marked its �1m milestone. For the last 26 years the charity shop, based in the hospital foyer, has raised money through the sale of small-priced gifts to patients and hospital visitors.

For the last 26 years the charity shop, based in the hospital foyer, has raised money through the sale of small-priced gifts to patients and hospital visitors.

It's dedicated team of volunteers have helped purchase hospital equipment comforts and hospital trust chairman John Hemming said he was extremely grateful for their hard work.

He said: “This is an achievement of which all those working for and associated with the League of Friends should be very proud.”

Heather Cave, League of Friends chairman, said: “Without the generosity and support of the public, our customers, we would not have achieved this splendid figure. My thanks to all those who have supported us over these years. Thanks a million.”
