The Lost Sheep Wool Shop, in Main Road, Rollesby, represents a dream come true for owner Teresa Leech.

Mrs Leech, 59, has always been a keen knitter, but her passion has taken a back seat until now.

Mrs Leech is the owner of Belle Vue Interiors and is now in her 30th year in business.

While looking for a showroom for her curtains, a property went up for sale right next to her home.

She said: “The building next door used to be the village shop some 40 years ago and when we were looking around it we realised there was much more space there than I needed for just my curtains.

“It’s been a long standing dream of mine to have a wool shop. I’ve always knitted and my family have always knitted and we decided that because there are no knitting shops around here anymore we would open one for local people.”

The shop will offer a range of wools and craft materials and will aim to offer a personal experience, offering visitors refreshments and opening via appointment out of hours.

Going forwards, Mrs Leech is also hoping to offer knitting classes.

She said: “I have been asked and asked and asked by customers over the last few years whether they could have somebody teach them to knit or crochet or make curtains and this is now giving us the opportunity to take things up a notch and do something different.

“We will be expanding into that, but it is hard to do everything all at once.”

The business will very much be a family affair, with Mrs Leech’s daughter and granddaughter helping to establish and operate the shop - and Mrs Leech hopes one day she will be able to take a back seat.

She added: “My dream is that I will slowly disappear up the corner and knit things.”

The shop will open on Saturday, April 7, and will open from 10am until 5pm every day except Tuesdays and Sundays.

Contact the shop on 01493 748811 or visit their Facebook page for more information.
