CHILDREN of Wroughton Infant School were visited by Grassroots Theatre Company as part of their Arts Week activities. Four performers from Zimbabwe entertained the children with a thrilling display of African dance in full tribal dress. The dance group blew whistles, played Conquer drums and “thumb pianos” called mbira and invited some children up to have a look (pictured).

During the day, the group held Zimbabwean workshops with Year 2 pupils where they joined in with African dance and song. Headteacher Trish Thompson said: “It was a fabulous day and a great start to our Arts Week.”
