The day raised £2,500 towards keeping the voluntary service afloat.
A lifeboat from Sea Palling attended the event but the planned visit by the Caister lifeboat was unable to go ahead.
There were plenty of stalls and sideshows, some raising money for their own charities.
There were a series lifeboat displays to show how the service operates, children's entertainment, the Newfoundland dog display team gave a demonstration, a grand raffle, music and a bar on the beach which all added up to a really family holiday atmosphere, said Mr Rossiter.
He added: “We may even have had more people attend had the weather been better a day or so before, but we were very pleased to see the numbers who did turn up.”
Hemsby lifeboat has a crew of 16 and Mr Rossiter believes that events like the Lifeboat Day are essential to raise public awareness while offering a day or fun and entertainment.
The lifeboatmen hold their annual Herring Day on Sunday, August 31 at the lifeboat station.
