A SERIES of road closures are taking place in Great Yarmouth town centre in next few weeks.The work, starting Monday, is the latest phase of a scheme to change and improve the roads around St George's Chapel.

The work, starting Monday, is the latest phase of a scheme to change and improve the roads around St George's Chapel.

The following closures are planned:

Monday, February 15 to Friday, February 19 - Day and night closure of King Street from the junction of King Street and Yarmouth Way to Row 120 for kerbing, drainage and pedestrian crossing works.

The diversion route will be via Yarmouth Way, Tolhouse Street, Nottingham Way, St Peters Road, Deneside (South) and York Road.

Buses from the Barrack Estate will be diverted via Yarmouth Way and South Quay.

Deliveries to King Street will be possible using a dedicated drop-off point. Night time access to parking at Fatso's will be allowed.

Friday, February 26 from 7pm to 6am Monday, March 1 and Friday, March 5 from 7pm to 6am, Monday, March 8 -

Weekend closures of Alexander Road, Yarmouth Way, King Street and Deneside.

The diversion route will be via St Nicholas Road, Euston Road, Marine Parade, St Peter's Road, King Street, Nottingham Way and South Quay.

The bus/taxi only route at Regent Street will be temporarily used to provide a traffic route out of Deneside.

Special arrangements will be made on site to meet access requirements within the closure.

A route to the Market Gates car park will be signed from Fullers Hill.

Bus routes will be diverted via Regent Road, King Street, Regent Street and South Quay.

If it is not possible to complete the works over the weekend, work will resume the following weekend when the same arrangements will be in place for as long as necessary.

If it is not possible to start the works on the first weekend, work will be rescheduled for Friday, March 5 to Monday, March 8, and the following weekend if necessary.

Monday, March 1 to Friday, March 5 - Night time closure (7pm to 6am) of Regent Road, King Street and Regent Street for resurfacing and pedestrian crossing works.

The bus/taxi only route at Regent Street will be temporarily revoked to provide a route out of Deneside.

Special arrangements will be made on site to meet access requirements within the closure.

Deliveries to King Street businesses via Howard Street Car Park, access to King's Casino maintained.

Temporary bus stops outside the Troll Cart pub will be in use after 7pm.
