POLICE are liaising with senior borough council staff over how to deal with 47 travellers' caravans that arrived at the beach coach station, North Denes Road, Great Yarmouth, on Saturday.
POLICE are liaising with senior borough council staff over how to deal with 47 travellers' caravans that arrived at the beach coach station, North Denes Road, Great Yarmouth, on Saturday.
Insp Teresa Eagleton said it was an unauthorised camp and stressed the priority of the police was the safety and welfare of the public. However, she said there had so far been no reports of any disorder.
It is believed that the travellers could be heading to a gathering at Walsingham, in north Norfolk, in a few days' time.
