TRAVIS Perkins is injecting 2m into its second site in Great Yarmouth in order to better serve the expected demand for building products and materials as the town grows.

The company is the only builders' merchant to have two branches serving the town's trade, and, following on from refurbishment of its North Quay branch last year, is completely redeveloping its second site on the Harfrey's Estate.

Improvement works, which began in March, will last for nine months and see the construction of a brand new 13,000sqft building plus an external yard on the existing site. The new facility will offer an even wider range of products and services to tradesmen in the construction sector.

Dennis Stimpson, branch manager, said: “Our customers and the town's residents have shown great faith and loyalty in our business over the years, and so this significant investment to improve our branch with a range of industry-leading products and services reinforces our commitment to Yarmouth. It also means that Travis Perkins is best placed to support the proposed urban regeneration in the town.”
