THREE former students returned to Lynn Grove High School last week to receive the Diana Certificate of Excellence.

Elliot Clarke, Hannah Fenn and Natasha Barnard, who left the school last year, were presented with their awards by MP Tony Wright at a special assembly.

They have all been involved with the Eastern Area Youth Work Team, Children's Services, for over two years making an outstanding contribution to the Active Citizenship Agenda.

After joining the Great Yarmouth Youth Forum they were part of a group organising an event raising the profile of mental health in schools attended by Tony Wright and town's mayor. They then undertook some projects jointly and some individually; Natasha as a member of the Norfolk Youth Fund with Hannah and Elliot members of the Service User groups.

All three took part in a youth conference bringing together over 20 different organisations.

The young people took part in briefings, made recommendations presented to conference and participated in workshops.

Elliot, Hannah and Natasha have moved on to further education and are continuing with their community work.

The Diana Certificate of Excellence is given in memory of the late Princess of Wales to young people aged 12-18 who work together in groups to improve their communities, organisations or schools.
