READER Rob Lamb has taken a keen interest in our UFO sightings reports - particularly after he and his partner witnessed something strange in the night skies.
He told The Mercury: “We both witnessed approximately 10 to 15 orange orbs travelling in a perfect straight line. The objects were going as fast as a commercial jet and made NO sound whatsoever.
“We wrote to the Ministry of Defence and were told that they were probably Chinese Lanterns! I wrote back to them to advise that Chinese lanterns do not travel in straight lines at speeds similar to a passenger plane, and have had no further response.”
Mystified and suspicious, Rob went trawling on the internet and came across a site which shows many people have seen similar orbs across the UK - and it also has a section dedicated to the Chinese lanterns excuse.
