FUN, laughter, and enjoying every moment is the secret of a long life according to Rose Manley who celebrated her 100th birthday last week.
Rose now lives with her daughter and son-in-law Joan and Bill Ford, at Upton, having moved from Wolverhampton eight years ago.
Five generations of her family got together with her to celebrate on Saturday with a large birthday cake and champagne.
After retiring from a career in the fine cloth industry, and working with the famous textiles company Courtaulds, she took up amateur dramatics and voluntary work with local clubs – gaining a reputation for having a beautiful smile.
Over a period of many years Rose visited family and friends in Norfolk and eventually decided to move to Upton with her daughter and family. Daughter Joan, said: “Mum is an amazing lady who still has a wonderful smile and loves a good laugh and, a reputation for liking the men, too!”
