After a successful debut Christmas light switch on, a village is pulling out all the stops this year.

Caister is preparing for its countdown to Christmas on Friday at 7pm outside the Council Hall in the High Street.

Parish councillor Kevin Wood said he hopes this year’s festivities will be better still.

He added: “We just want to give something back to the people of our village.

“This is a true community event for the community.”

There will be carols from the Caister Junior School choir, Soundwave Singers, Caister Coastwatch and others in the village.

Drinks and refreshments will be provided by the Caister WI in the hall which is being decked out in Christmas decorations for the occasion.

Throughout the village 16 Christmas trees are being put up and businesses are also being encouraged to decorate their buildings for the big occasion.
