Large snow drifts are blocking roads in and out of villages in the Great Yarmouth area.

In reports pasted on Facebook, the Hemsby to Caister road is affected as is the Hemsby to Ormesby and Martham road due to drifts, reports Mark Ward.

Anna Moyse has said there is no route clear to get out of Lound. Yarmouth Road and Browston Lane blocked by drifts as is Jay Lane and the road to Blundeston.

In Filby Tommy Howell took a picture of Filby Road that showed how it is virtually impassable with multiple cars stuck. Villagers went out to help free vehicles as the snow drifts have made a three foot snow wall on road. Even 4x4 vehicles were struggling to get through.

Border Bus report there are no, or reduced services and several are under review.

In Belton, Church Lane is blocked by a snow drift between the church and Beccles Road and Beccles Road is blocked between the crossroads and the new roundabout.

In Yarmouth itself, the main roads are passable but pavements very icy and slippery; side roads are covered in snow and ice.
