Yesterday a new life saving vehicle took to the roads as volunteers from the Stalham and Smallburgh Community First Responders received their latest wheeled donation.
The top of the range Fiat Panda is fully equipped with state of the art first aid equipment and will quickly reach people who are suffering heart attacks.
In an average week the team of three volunteer first responders are called out to more than two dozen 999 incidents and often reach people in trouble before ambulances.
Yesterday's car handover at the Desira showroom in Yarmouth was the culmination of a four-year fund raising campaign to get the �6,000 vehicle.
Volunteer Linda Darby said: “Getting this new car is fantastic as we just want to be out there providing first aid. I want to thank everyone who donated or raised any money for it.”
A third of the money was raised by the family of teenager Kimberly Allen of Smallburgh who died more than two years ago.
The Fiat Panda was supplied at a discounted price by Desira and is also sponsored by the Fairview Garage, Dorringtons Services and Broadland Eggs.
