THE Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society and Great Yarmouth Sea Life Centre are asking people to join them in protecting whales by Walking for Whales on July 12.

A five mile sponsored walk will start and end at the Sea Life Centre and local people are needed to get their walking shoes on and join in the fun family day, with discounted admission to the Sea Life Centre of just 2 per person for all those taking part.

About 30,000 whales have been killed since the international ban on commercial whaling came into effect in 1986 and money raised will go towards campaigning to keep the ban in place and bring an end to the killing of whales.

The walk begins at 10am and is open to all ages. There are prizes on offer for those raising the most in sponsorship including a whale adoption, free annual pass to Sea Life Centres.

Register for the event and receive your free fundraising pack, visit www.walkforwhales.org, email walkforwhales@wdcs.org or call 01249 449 500.
