A dog walker was shocked after she spotted a dead seal on a river bank near Great Yarmouth train station.
Janet McManus was walking with her two dogs on a path alongside the railway line yesterday (Sunday), not far from Asda car park, when she noticed the body.
She sent this picture to the Mercury as she was puzzled as to how the seal got to its final resting place.
She said: “I don’t know how the heck it got there. It’s right next to where you’re walking, it’s only about four foot down from the track. I just thought it was a bit strange to see a seal there.”
The 64 year old from Belton guessed that the animal may have swam up the river and got trapped when the tide went out.
