A BOOKLET offering a choice of 12 circular walks based on the 61-mile Weavers' Way long distance path between Cromer and Great Yarmouth is being launched tomorrow.

The walks vary from three to ten miles in length and each makes use of different sections of Weavers' Way giving walkers a taste of this engaging trail.

Seven of the walks are accessible by both bus and train, and to open the routes up to less agile people, stiles have been replaced by kissing gates in a number of places - including ten along the Breydon wall on Halvergate marshes.

The improvements and booklet have been produced and paid for by Norfolk County Council and will be officially launched by county council leader Daniel Cox at Acle War Memorial Recreation Centre in Bridewell Lane at noon.

Following some refreshments there will be a guided walk along the Acle circular walk (four miles, taking approximately 2 hours).

The 12 walks in the booklet are from Felbrigg Park, (4.4 miles), Aldborough (4.75 miles), Blickling (7.5 miles), Aylsham (4 miles), Felmingham (6.5 miles), Briggate and Worstead (3.75 miles), East Ruston (3.5 miles), Potter Heigham (5.8 miles), Thurne (3.25 miles), Acle (4.5 miles), Halvergate (10 miles) and Berney Arms (5.5 miles).

As well as maps and route directions, the guide includes information about the type of surface and obstacles to expect, refreshment facilities and points of interest.

The booklet and route improvements have together cost 15,000, funded from the County Council's Strategic Ambitions Fund, which includes improving access to the Broads.

Copies will be available free of charge from local Tourist Information Centres, or can be requested by contacting Norfolk County Council by e-mail at environment@norfolk.gov.uk, or by calling 0344 8008020.
