RESIDENTS are being warned to be on their guard against a phone scam targeting council tax payers.
Norfolk police have been called about two incidents where tax payers have received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the council and offering tax refunds. The caller then asks for bank or credit card details.
Last week, Broadland District Council sent out a similar warning to residents following calls from concerned members of the public.
Anyone who receives a call like this is being advised not to give out their bank details.
