WHEN St Nicholas' Parish Church was founded in Great Yarmouth in 1101 the method of recording keeping, providing information or requesting funding was by monks using quills and ink on parchment or verbal communication.

Little has changed since then, but now the St Nicholas' Church Preservation Trust has set up and launched its own website.

The Trust which looks after the fundraising activities to finance ongoing maintenance to the fabric and structure of St Nicholas' has gone live with its own dedicated website.

The site provides information about the Trust, its work, future projects and fundraising events planned. As well as ongoing maintenance the site highlights the need for 300,000 remedial work needed for the church organ and that five pinnacles on the exterior of the church will need restoration work estimated at 250,000.

The organ has been highlighted to be of historical interest by the British Institute of Organ Studies.

The website is www.sncpt.co.uk and sponsors would be welcome. Anyone interested should contact Nick Pownall on 01493 844646 or email aqua@pownall.fsnet.co.uk or Dr Paul Davies on 01493 843647 or email paulpearce@yarmouth8143.freeserve.co.uk.
