A CLUTCH of stand-up stars from the London comedy circuit are to perform at a restored mill in a small south Norfolk town.

The Christmas comedy night Live at Loddon Mill, based on the television programme that showcases comedy talent, Live at the Apollo, will feature former Casualty actor James Redmond.

Redmond, who played 'Finn' Finnigan in Hollyoaks, went on to take the role of John 'Abs' Denham in Casualty, before leaving in 2008 to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.

The line-up also includes Birmingham comedian Shazia Mirza, funnyman Dan Antopolski, and new on the scene Ali Brice, all of whom have appeared on television programmes such as Have I got News For You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

Bringing the comedians to Loddon is a major coup for organisers, who are promoting the Mill Room at Loddon Mill as a top theatre, arts and music venue in Norfolk.

Presenting the event, Loddon Mill Arts said tickets were selling well for the comedy night on December 18.

With a maximum capacity of 120, the venue played host on Friday to top musicians from the Turner Ensemble, which features players from the Royal Opera House. Their sell-out performance marked the first anniversary of the opening of the arts venue.
