The Great Yarmouth Beer and Cider Festival will be held at St George’s Theatre from June 21 to June 24.

More than 50 real ales and ciders will be available, many of them award winning brews selected from a host of brewers both regional and national.

All the beers and ciders are selected by sommelier Day Harvey who will be on hand during the festival to discuss the selections.

In a change to its previous format the festival will remain open all day on the Friday and Saturday finishing with an extended afternoon session on the Sunday.

With the 2018 FIFA World Cup in full swing, festival goers will be able to keep up with the weekend’s football action in the Theatre Pavilion Cafe where the live matches will be shown on the large screen television.

The festival will be open from 5pm to 10.30pm on Thursday, June 21 and run from 12pm to 10.30pm on both the Friday and Saturday. It finishes with a lunch time session (12pm to 4pm) on Sunday, June 24.

There will be live music on the Friday and Saturday evenings with eight-piece skiffle bluegrass Americana band The Lovin’ Handful headlining Friday night and The Misfit Collective – who performed at last year’s festival – return for the Saturday night.

There will also be food and snacks available in the pavilion building next door along with a selection of alternative refreshments.

Jonathan Newman, town centre manager, said: We (Day Harvey and myself) as organisers of the annual festival are very much looking forward to the event and hope that the change in the opening hours will make it easier for people to come and enjoy the festival too.”

Advance tickets are now available through the St George’s Theatre booking office with prices varying from £3 to £5 depending on the session attended.
