Congratulations to the winner of our Star Hotel competition
Mrs Cheryl Dean of Burgh Castle has won herself an overnight stay for two at the quayside hotel with a sumptuous afternoon tea in the hotel’s lounge, an evening meal in the Nelson’s or River Room Restaurant with a bottle of wine, followed by a breakfast the next morning.
There was more than 100 entries and editor of the Mercury, Anne Edwards, picked the winning entry out at random last Friday at the Star.
It has taken the Bossick family owners almost a year to transform the Star Hotel with the hopes of kickstarting a new quayside “dining quarter”, chiming with the council’s idea for pedestrianising the area. The six-figure refurbishment has seen bedrooms stripped back and redecorated, new kitchens, and a revamped reception area.
