The Mayor of Great Yarmouth is holding a special Halloween ball and is encouraging youngsters to dress up.

On Wednesday, October 31, the mayor, councillor Colleen Walker, will hold her Mini Mayors Ball at the Ocean Room in Great Yarmouth, from 7pm to 10pm.

Designed to be an alternative Halloween night out for all the family, the evening will include a disco, competitions and a prom-style ball.

Cllr Walker said: “We always hold a civic ball for the grown ups at the end of the mayoral year, I wanted during my year in office to give the youngsters an opportunity to dress up in their posh frocks and suits to celebrate with me, with a disco and competitions in a fun evening.

“I thought that to hold a prom type ball in half term would be an excellent opportunity”.

Family tickets for two adults and two children are being sold for 30 and will include a basket meal.

All other tickets are 8. These can be bought from either Laura Goodman at the Town Hall on 01493 846125 or from RetroSkate in the Marina Centre in Marina Parade.
