Love will be in the air at Great Yarmouth Market as families take part in a special Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Hunt around its stalls.

On Wednesday between 9am and 4pm people will be challenged to visit every stall on both the Central Market and Market Place, looking for “Sweetheart Symbols” such as a Cupid’s bow and arrow, teddy bear, red heart, green heart, box of chocolates and a cupcake.

All participants will receive a sweet tasty treat and those who count up all the “Sweetheart Symbols” correctly will win a single-use voucher giving 10pc off at any participating stall.

Organised by Great Yarmouth Borough Council, in partnership with the market traders, the Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Hunt is completely free-of-charge to take part in and entry forms are available from participating market stalls.

Barry Coleman, chairman of the economic development committee, said: “This fun family idea came from the market traders themselves and encourages people to explore all the stalls during half term and see the wide range of goods on offer.”
