While snow is causing chaos across the borough, in Gorleston the wind is also creating disruption, bringing a tree crashing down and damaging a shop sign on the High Street.
Shortly after 8am this morning, police were called to Church Lane in the town, where a tree had fallen, damaging two cars, trapping one underneath.
The tree fell close to the car park of the Iceland store on the High Street, trapping a Fiat 500 car underneath, while also damaging a Nissan, The fallen tree also exposed live wires on a telegraph pole.
Police then made the area was safe and Great Yarmouth Borough Council has been made aware.
Then, at around 11am, the shop sign of McColl’s on Gorleston High Street was also damaged, with four pieces of it breaking away in the wind.
Police cordoned the section of the pavement outside the shop off, redirecting people away from the scene and making sure the area was safe.
