Wow, look at the snowfall in 1959!
This was the Winterton to Hemsby road being searched for abandoned cars after a sharp snowfall caused havoc in Norfolk in mid-January 1959.
Just one of the pictures on this page and concentrated on the village of Winterton. All the photos are from our archives.
A couple of pictures are undated – the pretty thatched cottages and the one of R J King General Stores. Can anyone help?
The Winterton church picture is dates April 1955.
Hope these photos bring back memories, or are of interest, perhaps to new villagers.
