PLAYTIMES have become even more fun for the children of Winterton Primary School now that a grant from the village's Millennium Fund has been used to enhance playground environment. New playground markings combining traditional games like hopscotch, with more modern activities to improve agility and fitness have been put down. Staff and children will be trained in how to make the best use of the markings this term.
In addition, two new target boards have been put up to help children improve their throwing and aiming skills and the playground wall has been transformed into the school's very own lateral climbing wall, helping the children build up their strength.
Headteacher Richard Endall said: “The improvements represent the first phase of a three-year plan aimed at enhancing the opportunities for learning and adventurous play in the school grounds.”
