PUPILS at Winterton Primary School are making the most of the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument which has been offered to them since the beginning of this term. Over a third of the children have started to learn either keyboard or guitar and there are further plans in place to offer another instrument later this year. The school has also been fortunate enough to be offered a place on Music Quest, a project run by The Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts. This will provide training for staff, music projects and a competition for the children. Then in February next year, the children will be visited in school by members of the world renowned Philharmonia Orchestra who will bring a range of orchestral instruments for them to try. On the same day, the school will attend the Music Quest concert in Great Yarmouth, performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra itself.
