A 25-year-old woman was bitten by a dog in Gorleston on Sunday.
She was followed by a dog as she walked along an alleyway that runs off Common Road in Gorleston towards the A12 bypass at around 5.30am.
She managed to force the animal off and ran away but she sustained a small puncture wound and scratches.
Officers are making enquiries to trace the owner of the dog and are asking anyone who saw the incident or anyone with information about the animal to call PC Jamie Amis on 101
