The woman was walking along Cobbs Place between 12.50am and 1am on Sunday when she was pushed from behind.
Officers from Great Yarmouth are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at Cobbs Place.
The male suspect then grabbed her handbag and fled the scene.
Police have issued a description of a male wearing a dark hooded top who they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
