PUPILS from Years 3, 4 and 5 at Woodlands Primary School, Bradwell, have been very fortunate in experiencing, Norwich City's FITC multi-skills coach Laurence York, to develop their sports skills.

Throughout the term pupils have been engaged in a series of drills and games to improve their agility, speed, balance and co-ordination as part of their development of fundamental movement skills.

The children have been taking part in these sessions during their curriculum PE lessons, and have been using the new multi skills markings on their playground funded. The FITC multiskills programme together with £1,500 worth of playground markings were funded by the East Norfolk School Sports Partnership, as part of its continuing project to enrich local children's lives through sport and physical activity. The playground markings are also used at break and lunchtimes with both a selection of older pupils and midday supervisors attending local courses in the delivery of games and drills, to keep the playground active.

Head of PE Stuart Aldous has been impressed with their pupils dedication and commitment to improve. He added: “The skills being learnt in each lesson will help pupils in any sport that they may play, as well as developing personal skills such as teamwork and problem solving.”
