LONG-awaited work will start soon on reconstruction of outbuildings at Caister Golf Club after it was gutted by fire last year .

The club has submitted plans to the borough council to demolish existing outbuildings which were destroyed by fire in June and construct a new storage building.

Tractors, mowers and other grounds keeping equipment were lost in the fire which was caused by faulty wiring in a 4x4 buggy.

The club is proposing to construct a custom made steel building on the site of the former outbuilding which will again house grounds keeping machinery.

Since the fire the club has hired non-essential equipment, purchasing only essential machinery.
