A GROUP of children from Wroughton Infant School were selected this term to take part in a five-week First Aid project, which was run by gifted and talented co-ordinator, Mel Young and first aid trainer, Karen Ablitt. The children learned how to put on bandages and slings. They were shown how to put a patient into the recovery position and practised on each other. The children also took part in role play, re-enacting an emergency situation to include the correct script for an emergency call. The children enjoyed the course so much and took part with such enthusiasm, that Miss Young and Mrs Ablitt have now decided to run a First Aid Awareness club after school for Year 2 pupils. Pictured are Tia and Amy learning the recovery position.
