YEAR four children at Wroughton Junior School, in Gorleston, held a senior citizens' party in the main hall of the school last week, where guests enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment, music and food.

Harry and Jane Uebergang , who recently joined the school from Australia gave solo flute and clarinet performances and there was a gymnastic display, singing by the choir, and a very colourful tap dance to Singing in the Rain by three girls.

Musical bell ringing by children and some sing a long Christmas carols were followed by a raffle for all the guests. The children in Year 4 raised all the money to pay for the raffle prizes last month by making sandwiches and cakes.

Children in one class made the table decorations using foliage from the nature garden in the school grounds, and headtacher Mr Hawkes said how proud he was of all the pupils who took part in the event.
