At the March JGI Monthly Coffee Morning members of Belton Charity Fundraisers assembled for the final time to make the last presentation of grants from their fundraising activities having decided to close down early last year after 13 years fundraising, first as The Friends of the John Green Institute and latterly as The Fundraisers.

Brian Swan reported that the total raised just from the regular charity stall and the quiz sheets since June 2006 was £28,335, this did not include other fundraising in the early days when they were the JGI Friends.

The cheques were presented by Wilma Fuller who also spoke on the group’s past activities and at the end of the presentations the Rev Rosie Bunn spoke on behalf of everyone present thanking the group for their activities.

The recipients of the last round of grants which amounted to £2400 were The John Green Institute (£500), Young at Heart (£200), Belton Art group (£100), Belton Church Youth Groups (£200), 1st Belton Scouts (£200), Burgh Castle Charity Fun Day (£200), Great Yarmouth Stroke Group (£200), The East Anglian Air Ambulance (£400) and The East Coast Hospice (£400).
