A WOODEN yacht and its three crew members had to be rescued today after it ran aground near Gorleston. Yarmouth Coastguard was called just after 12pm after the boat struck the bottom of the sea and got stuck just a mile from the entrance into Yarmouth Harbour.
A WOODEN yacht and its three crew members had to be rescued today after it ran aground near Gorleston.
Yarmouth Coastguard was called just after 12pm after the boat struck the bottom of the sea and got stuck just a mile from the entrance into Yarmouth Harbour.
Gorleston's all-weather and inshore lifeboats were launched and the rescue helicopter was also called to the scene.
Lifeboatmen managed to get a tow line to the stricken vessel and bring it safely into Yarmouth harbour where it was moored at Town Hall Quay.
