A 24-YEAR-old man appeared in court this morning charged with being involved in an incident in a Great Yarmouth bar that left a man with serious head injuries.
Tristan Barber denied being involved in an affray in the Long Bar on Saturday, November 15 that led to Simon Spires spending a week in intensive care at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
Mr Spires also suffered a collapsed lung during the alleged affray which happened in the Marine Parade bar at about 5am.
At the time of the alleged incident there were about 80 people attending a radio station organised event in the Long Bar.
Barber, 24, of Middlemarket Road, Yarmouth, also pleaded not guilty at Yarmouth Magistrates' Court to causing actual bodily harm to Dewi Davies in the Long Bar on the same evening as the affray.
It is claimed that Barber kicked Mr Davies as he lay unconscious on the floor.
Magistrates bailed Barber to reappear before them on March 6 when his affray and actual bodily harm charges will be committed to Norwich Crown Court.
