Yarmouth college bids for Euro funding

A bid by Great Yarmouth College for £70,000 of European cash that could see its fashion students benefit from learning trips to Europe's fashion capital Milan will be launched today.

A bid by Great Yarmouth College for £70,000 of European cash that could see its fashion students benefit from learning trips to Europe's fashion capital Milan will be launched today.

If successful, the first students in a scheme running two years could be winging their way to Italy in 2011 where they will study alongside Italian fashion students.

Norfolk Euro MP Richard Howitt, who is launching the bid, is visiting the Suffolk Road college today to see the fashion students at work.

He said: “The European cash for this project will give Yarmouth students a valuable opportunity to get up close to the hub of Europe's fashion capital, giving them a chance to mix British street cool with classic Milan design. I am delighted to be able to launch this funding bid.”
