Crowds at the 2012 London Olympics are to be stewarded by students from Great Yarmouth College thanks to a project to fill a shortfall in the games' helpers.

Crowds at the 2012 London Olympics are to be stewarded by students from Great Yarmouth College thanks to a project to fill a shortfall in the games' helpers.

The college is one of 50 across the country that is offering students the “Understanding stewarding at spectator events” course which will guarantee successful students an interview to work on security at the Olympics.

Students on BTEC and National Diploma courses in public services, travel and tourism and sport in 2011-12 will be able to take the new course.
