Kerri Lee and Jade Hunter are making their tandem skydive at 13,000 feet in memory of Kerri's grandfather who died from a brain tumour.
Kerri, 19, has never flown before so her free-fall parachute jump through the clouds later this month will be a double-whammy for her.
Public services students Kerri and Jade, 16, decided to sign up for the fund-raiser for the Youth Cancer Trust after Kerri saw a poster at the college inviting applicants.
Kerri's grandfather Richard Sales died from a brain tumour aged just 36, long before Kerri was born.
She said: “It is something I had always wanted to do and the fact it was for cancer made me more determined. I went back and roped Jade in too. I just thought it would be nice to do something in his memory. You have to raise 395 for the Youth Cancer Trust to make the jump and I have already raised more than 400 so far and have got two weeks to raise more money.”
