NEW courses will begin at Great Yarmouth College later this month to help students get back into study without having to wait until the traditional September start.

There is still time to enrol on hospitality courses at entry level and levels one and level 2 which will run until July.

Successful candidates on the full-time courses will then have the chance to move on to a high level course starting in September.

Staff are signing up students now for the qualifications in multi-skilled hospitality services designed to arm students with the range of skills needed to work in the many small hotels in the area.

Units studied cover skills needed to work on reception, in the kitchen, restaurant and bar.

Kevin Bayes, head of school for service industries, said: ““Last year we had successful students on the multi-skilled qualification join full-time courses on the next level in September.”

“The idea of the multi-skilled qualification is to enable students to work in the small hotels around here where workers need to be able to turn their hands to all areas of the work.”
