A 44-year-old man who supplied drugs in Great Yarmouth close to a help centre for drug addicts was jailed for more than two years yesterday.

Lee Tingle, of Livingstone Street, Norwich, pleaded guilty to a charge of being concerned in the supply of heroin and three counts of supplying heroin at Norwich Crown Court.

The conviction follows an investigation by the Great Yarmouth Tactical Crime Unit into suspected drug dealing on North Quay. Plain clothes officers observed an area close to a centre which offers services to help people with alcohol, drug and gambling problems.

As a result of their observations, Tingle was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

Tingle was sentenced to two years and eight months imprisonment.

Det Con Toby Gosden, from the Yarmouth Tactical Crime Unit, said: “This is a good sentence which reflects the seriousness of these offences.

“This individual was targeting vulnerable members of the community and as a result swift and firm action was taken against this individual.”
